On the sidelines of the ongoing session of the 59th Series of Meetings of the WIPO Assemblies in Geneva, Switzerland, Mr. Kinley Tenzin Wangchuk, the Director General of the Department of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Economic Affairs held a meeting with Ms. Josephine R. Santiago, the Director General of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines, IPOPHL.

The discussions covered a range of issues of mutual interest and cooperation such as on capacity building and exchange programmes for the patents, designs and trademark examiners, awareness and outreach programmes on IP, the arrangements for designate the IPOPHL as a patent search authority for the DoIP, and on the good practices in the management and efficient use of the Technology Information and Support Centres, TISCs.

The delegations also discussed the possible exchange of MoUs to formalise the long term and sustainable future development cooperation activities and programmes in the field of Intellectual Property.
