Awareness on Intellectual Property at the Startup Acceleration Program (SAP)

The Department of Intellectual Property (DoIP), Ministry of Economic Affairs presented on Intellectual Property to the startup entrepreneurs during the start-up Acceleration Program organized by Entrepreneurship Division, Department of Employment and Human Resources, Ministry of Labour and Human Resources, on January 15, 2019 at Hotel Riverside, Thimphu. More than 15 participants attended the session.

The objective of the program was to create awareness on the significance of Intellectual Property Rights (Copyright, Trademark, Design and Patent) in business and entrepreneurship development.  Participants were also sensitized on registration process, fee structures and on legal provisions under Copyright Act and Industry Property Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan, 2001.

The DoIP distributed a copy of annual magazine, National Intellectual Property Policy (NIPP) 2018 and pamphlets on Intellectual Property to the participants.
