Webinar with WIPO on Technical Assistance in the times of Covid
November 4, 2021 - The Department of Intellectual Property (DoIP) led by the Director General participated in the webinar on Technical Assistance in the times of COVID: Challenges, Opportunities and Lessons Learned organized by the Development Agenda Coordination Division of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The meeting was conducted virtually in the evening of Nov. 4, 2021.
The Director General, DoIP began his 20 minutes presentation by highlighting Bhutan’s safeguard against the Covid19 under the selfless leadership and guidance of His Majesty the King during and his tireless effort in fighting the ongoing pandemic. During the webinar, Office shared experiences relating to Technical Assistance availed by Bhutan amidst the pandemic.
In the presentation, the Director General shared in particular, the Department`s challenges, opportunities and lessons being learnt in implementing WIPO`s technical assistance during the ongoing pandemic. The officials from the World Trade Organization, Asia and the Pacific Division of WIPO and the WIPO Academy also participated and presented their findings and information related to the Technical Assistances provided to the member states during the ongoing pandemic.
